Adobe recommends that you turn off PowerPoint's "Auto-fit text to text placeholder" option when using Create PDF under Windows 98 or ME. Otherwise the text of some fonts may become garbled in the PDF.

You'll find this option in PowerPoint's Tools, Options dialog box on the Edit tab.
