Creating an add-in
Creating an add-in from the code in your PPT file couldn't be simpler:
- First, be CERTAIN to save your work as a normal PPT file first. Once you've saved it as an add-in, you can't open it again, you can't edit it, and all the slides in the presentation are gone.
- If you've already loaded a version of the add-in for testing, unload it. PowerPoint won't let you save an add-in to the same file as an already-open add-in. Alternatively, you can save the add-in to a different folder or to a different filename than the currently loaded version.
- Choose File, Save As
- In the "Save as type:" box, choose "PowerPoint Add-In (*.ppa)
- PowerPoint automatically changes the target save-as folder to its default AddIns folder. You can accept this or change it. It doesn't really matter where you store your Add-Ins.
- In the "File name:" box, give your Add-In a name.
- Click Save
