PowerPoint crashes when I type text
Problem
You're running a Windows version of PowerPoint on your Mac using e.g. BootCamp.
You start to type some text and PowerPoint crashes.
Solution
These are the instructions for Windows 7 or Vista. XP will be similar if not identical:
Open the Windows Control Panel
Choose View by Category
Open Clock, Language and Region
Click Change keyboards or other input methods
Click the Change keyboards ... button
Click the Add button
Scroll to English (United States) and expand
Put a check next to US
Click OK
Click OK. There should be two keyboards listed: US and United States (Apple)
Click OK
