My 2007 presentation doesn't work as expected in the 2007 viewer
Problem
When viewed with the 2007 viewer your 2007 file loses animations and/or hyperlinks are messed up.
PowerPoint MVP Lucy Thomson has some answers for you.
Solution
If at all possible, give your presentation using PowerPoint 2007. If you can't do that, read on.
Animations
There are a few solutions to text animation problems:
- Remove new effects from your text/objects
- Cut the text/objects and paste special as a picture then reanimate
- If you need 'by letter' animations, repeat the above but for each individual letter
Hyperlinks
For information on what to do about messed up hyperlinks see Lost hyperlinks, hyperlinks link to wrong place, hyperlinks stop working
Background
The 2007 viewer is actually the 2003 viewer plus the compatability pack that converts PowerPoint 2007 files to PowerPoint 97-2003 format, so using it is the equivalent of 'down-saving' to the 97-2003 file format. This means text with new effects applied is converted to a picture (thus losing your beautifully constructed animations).
And because the presentation is converted to 97-2003 format, the old 'limited amount of hyperlink information' problem kicks in (thus messing up your beautifully constructed hyperlinks).
