PowerPoint itself seems ok, or you're not sure the problem IS with PowerPoint, but as Miss Clavelle said, something isn't quite right.

Here are some of our favorite links for general PC hardware and software troubleshooting.

Start with your PC manufacturer's web site for tips and updates. Then check some of these generalized troubleshooting guides or try our old standby: go to Google and search on "network" or "network troubleshooting" or "troubleshoot network" (or whatever you're having trouble with).

Gateway sells a LOT of PCs. It's in their best interest to help customers solve their own problems quickly and without extensive (and expensive) time with paid support staff. They understand this well, and it shows in their Gateway Support Tutorials site.

It might be a little hard to find stuff on JSI Tips but it's worth trying their search feature. Here's an example ... their network troubleshooting tips.
