Can I install standalone PowerPoint along with Small Business Edition?
Problem
You have Microsoft Office Small Business Edition and need to use PowerPoint, but can't seem to find it.
Why this is happening to you, even though you're a nice person
MS Office 2002 Small Business Edition (SBE) doesn't include PowerPoint.
Fixes/Workarounds
First, check with your computer or software dealer to see if you can exchange SBE for an Office version that includes PowerPoint. (Note that Office 2003 SBE does include PowerPoint).
If you can't do that, you may be able to purchase a standalone version of PowerPoint, possibly an earlier one, that can be installed alongside SBE.
To add a standalone version of PowerPoint to your system that has SBE installed already, the cardinal rule is to install the oldest software first, followed by newer versions.
For example, if you have PowerPoint or Office 97 and want to install it with Office 2000 SBE, it's best to first uninstall Office SBE, install PowerPoint, then install SBE again. You'll need an SBE installation CD for this. If one didn't come with your computer, stop now. Do NOT uninstall SBE, as you won't have any way to reinstall it later.
