Create a new presentation using parts of an existing one
Suppose you have an existing presentation and want to use some of the slides in a new presentation.
DrJay posted this eye-opening trick in the PowerPoint newsgroup:
- Open the existing presentation and choose View, Slide Sorter
- Select the slides you want to include in the new presentation
- PPT2000 - SHIFT+Click to select ranges of slides, CTRL+Click to select non-adjacent slides w/o selecting the slides between them.
- PPT97 - SHIFT+Click to select individual non-adjacent slides. Click and drag to select ranges of slides.
- Drag the selected slides to your desktop
- This creates a Scrap file on your desktop - double click it.
- The scrap file opens up in Powerpoint as a new presentation with just the slides you selected.
- The new presentation will have the same master as the original presentation so be sure to choose File, Save As and give it a new name
- Say "Thank you, Dr Jay"
