What placeholders can I use in my template?

The available placeholders are listed as individual FAQs below. Each is explained in detail.

PPT2HTML placeholders are arranged by category in a kind of "dot notation"

For example, placeholders having to do with your PowerPoint slides and the images produced from them all begin with :Slide. The placeholder that represents the slide image that PPT2HTML produces is :Slide.Image:

This dot notation can go several levels deep. For example, the placeholder that represents the Width of the Image produced from your Slide is :Slide.Image.Width: and to use the text in the first body text placeholder on your slides, you'd use :Slide.Ph.BodyText1:

Categories of placeholders include:You can also use the names of PowerPoint's Built-in and Custom Document Properties as placeholders. PPT2HTML will replace these with whatever value the specified property holds.

PPT2HTML doesn't produce HTML of its own when it substitutes live values for most of the placeholders you've included in your templates. You get to supply whatever HTML code you like. However, PPT2HTML does include a little HTML when it "fills in" certain placeholders. Any such placeholder will have .HTML in its name.

For example, :Slide.Ph.BodyText1_AsBullets.HTML: produces the body text from your slides as HTML-formatted bulleted lists.

To see a listing of placeholders and a brief description of each, click the Prefs icon on the PPT2HTML toolbar then click CODES in the Preferences dialog box.

You can copy and paste from this listing into your template files while editing them if you like.

In addition, PPT2HTML can use any of PowerPoint's built-in Document Properties and any Custom Document Properties you define as placeholders. The built-in properties (and their current values) along with the names and values of any custom properties you've defined are also listed in CODES.
